Charming and unusual British crime drama focuses on Gabriel Book (series creator Mark Gatiss), the owner of a London bookshop (perhaps a bit on the nose) in 1946. Much of his life shrouded in secrecy-from his World War II service to a marriage of convenience that conceals his homosexuality-Book is always on hand to aid the local police when a case proves particularly perplexing.
