Mary Kate "Spacekate" McDonald is an art teacher, new mom, and lover of nature. She began this series of paintings, "Upriver", when the world shut down (Covid) and she had some extra time on her hands. These paintings are on recycled canvases found at garage sales and thrift stores, transformed with line used as a conversation with the unknown artist. On some there are aerial views of Colorado rivers and panoramic views of Colorado mountains.
Mary Kate's show will be on display in the Quiet Room at the library for the month of February. Stop by on Friday, Feb 10 from 4-6p to visit with her. Refreshments will be served.
