The Powerhouse is Southwest Colorado’s premier hands-on, interactive science center for all ages. Open year-round, the science center is a dynamic place for family adventures, school field trips, early childhood learning, special events, hanging around by the river, messing around with amazing technology, and just plain geeking out. From creative circuits, to mystery substances, to paleontology, their hands-on, standards-based STEAM lessons cover a wide range of sciences. Each lesson includes core science concepts including literacy, data collection, model building, experimental design, observational skills, and many even involve fostering a “tinker” mindset.
